Hi, Korean enthusiasts! As I've been experiencing various music shows recordings and broadcasts, I've been meeting a lot of new things. I haven't watched music programs before as I did not really watch stuff on my pc and common, I do not understand it :D But I guess I've been missing a lot. When you participate in prerecordings with one fanclub (Garnets - Kim Samuel fans for me this time) you get to see much more than just your idol! You usually see at least one other performer (before yours) and sometimes, if there's some very new group without much fans, even the one after to make an audience for them. That allows you to discover new great music. And you're doomed because you wanna stan another group :D Let's have a look at my August's favourite discoveries! Instant like These groups got me on the first listening that I had to find out who they are. And that reminds me I need to download the songs. ONF - ON/OFF ONF (pronounced as "on en of") is a 7 members boy group under WM Entertainment (same as B1A4 and Oh My Girl). They caught my eye with a catchy song and very nice stage behaviour. They were all smiley and communicated with fans as they could. They also have a good choreography and are good dancers. The detail I love the most - the little "key slide down" after the chorus. Got me wow. Dreamcatcher - Fly High This 7 members girl group is not new at all. Way back in 2014 they were called Minx with just five members but looks like it didn't work out well for them as their agency Happy Face Entertainment choose to redebut them with new name and two new members. They debuted as Dreamcatcher this January, in April had a second single album and currently are promoting an extended play called Prequel. Those lovely girls put a different vibe into k-pop as I strongly feel j-rock in it. Yeah, judge me, I just feel like it and I totally love it! Be sure to check out even live performances as I like how the choreography works with the background music. The Rose - Sorry Oh. My. God. No, really. As soon as I heard the first notes, I immediatelly fell in love with this song! These four guys are amazing! They are an actual band having a singer, guitars, bass and drums. And I can't have enough of the main vocalist's voice. Thought he's not the only one singing a lot. J&Star Entertainment made a great group and I really hope they will get big and known because with current style they are damn great. Me likey It wasn't a love at the first heard but I found my way to these songs too. Some because I've heard them many times, some just needed a bit of a time for my liking. But I still wanna add them to my k-pop mix. GFRIEND - Love Whisper I guess I do not have to talk about this group much as they are blast in Korea right now. It looks like they became one of the most popular girl groups. No wonder with this nice summer catchy song. They won some trophies (until EXO and then Wanna One took over) and they are well deserved. If you need some soft song to get you tup in the morning, give Love Whisper a shot. P.O.P. - Catch You I've already shared this song in my fanaccount from Samuel's prerecording but I'll gladly have it here again. This 6 members girl group freshly debuted by DWM Entertainment is still kinda small but slowly gaining fans. Catch You is a catchy song (pun probably intended) with slight summer vibes that makes you swing in the rythm. The girls are a bit shy but very nice. They might not be the best group ever but they still deserve their spot in k-pop industry! Weki Meki - I Don't Like Your Girlfriend Weki Meki were very much anticipated and rose to fame almost instantly. Their fans (mostly male) are no joke! Strong fanchants must be heard even through the TV screen. This 8 members group formed by Fantagio Music contains a former I.O.I. members Yoojung and Doyeon (that kind of explains the anticipation). They aren't your usual sweet girls next door. The song is pretty powerfull and includes complex choreography. It's not exactly my style (so it was not instant like) but oh oh oh ah ah ah just gets you in the end. Also, I just couldn't take my eyes off of Doyeon, she's a visual goddess O:) If you're not that much into sweet summer songs, definitely get yourself into Weki Meki. s Special shoutout: The East Light - I Got You Ah, these boys... They look like ten years olds that should be doing homework at home instead of being out of bed on the stage after 9pm :D But on the other hand - they are so cute and cheerfull that I had to mention them. In reality, the oldest guys are 17 (ohmygod, they totally don't look like that!) and the youngest one is 14. They are also very talented in their fields (drums, guitar..) with some TV appearances in the past. Media Line Entertainment debuted them last December (!) and whether I or you think they should have stayed in the practise room a bit longer to grow up more or not, it's undisputable that they bring so much energy to the stage that puts a big smile on everyone's faces. So, those are mine August's favorites in k-pop. I did not mention Samuel's Sixteen as this is no new discovery for me but surely watch this talented patootie too ;) (I kinda cannot hear it anymore after countless listenings on recordings and shows :D And I kinda can't enjoy the song to the fullest as I automatically think in fanchant...) Did you like any of these songs? Do you like some other song that was released recently? Share your thoughts in comments down below! Be go(o)d
